California’s drought is officially over, but the need to avoid wasting water isn't. For the past two weeks, Roble’s residents have been participating in a water-saving contest. The Roble student who took the greatest number of “Navy showers” between May 1 and May 14 won a plush Roble robe and a $50 Amazon gift card. A Navy shower involves turning on the water quickly, then turning it off and lathering up, and then turning it on again quickly to rinse off. Roble residents who chose to participate in the Navy-shower challenge marked each Navy shower they took on a poster in their hallways. Based on the number of Navy showers taken, more than 1,295 gallons of water were saved during these two weeks.
